embrace. a simple word with a powerful meaning.
1. embrace: “to accept willingly & enthusiastically“
just “embrace it.”
a phrase we so often hear as advice when we try to embrace things that may, in reality, be incredibly difficult to “willingly and enthusiastically accept.”
2. embrace: “to hold (someone) closely in one’s arms, especially as a sign of affection“
embracing a parent, a grandparent, a friend, a sibling, a partner as a sign of love, a sign of comfort, a sign of gratitude, a sign of forgiveness.
what if we embraced an EMBRACE within the things that are difficult to willingly and enthusiastically accept. within the tumult, disorder, & pain.
if we fell into an embrace of a community, of a loved one, of the Lord…the tumult, the disorder, the pain could be processed, loved, comforted, forgiven.
rather than just “embrace IT.” embrace THEM.
embrace the embraces & embrace those who need to be embraced.
