A Short Reflection From BeLoved Revealed Owner & Content Creator, Katy Stalter:
A large part of why I wanted to start BeLoved Revealed was to create frequent posts & messages reminding others that they are dearly loved above all of the characteristics, qualities, traits, quirks, and experiences that they may like or dislike about themselves. I hoped to remind those who chose to follow along with this platform of their Belovedness, that they deserve to feel & be loved, and to encourage the same deliverance of love & respect to all people that they encounter. I guess in a way, I started this platform to continuously remind myself of these messages too, as I’ve learned that this life is a wild, beautiful adventure of clutching onto any positivity, perseverance, and prayer that is in reach.
As someone who has struggled with mental health and has witnessed the impact that these struggles have also had on many loved ones, I believed that it was incredibly important to begin to bring some of these topics to light on BeLoved Revealed. As a Catholic woman, I also wanted to highlight the positive, powerful impact that prayer & a relationship with God has had on healing & processing my own mental health struggles. However, I did not want to neglect the suffering and struggles that my faith has caused me or, rather, people or experiences that I have encountered during my faith journey that have caused more harm than good: involving both, believers of my own religion, and those who have differing beliefs than me.
The most recent podcast with certified mental health therapist, Ruthie Dubois, was a fruitful conversation about mental health that was a pure example of what I had hoped would appear on this platform. A space, a person, and a conversation that once again reminded me of my Belovedness and worth above all mental health struggles & experiences that I have struggled with. I hope that it can or did provide the same reminder for you.
From conversations about mental health & religiosity to learning about trauma and ways to process, heal, and love others through it, this interview was educational, honest, and vulnerable. Mental health cannot be easy to talk about, especially when in relation to faith at times, but Ruthie truly created a space to listen, learn, and reflect on ways to seek positivity, persevere in mental illness, and pray in healthy, authentic, and personal ways. And it’s only part one…..
